Spirit Week- Holiday Day

Today is Holiday Day. I have seen a teacher with a turkey on his head, a student who looked like an elf, and a pirate (Halloween)! It is quite a sight when the bell rings in between classes. Today's post will feature students creating art in their best "holiday" attire.

Reminders:

1. Weekly Sketchbook Checks are happening tomorrow. Students get to choose what it is they will draw, but everyone is expected to turn in a drawing for a grade tomorrow.

2. Please return signed progress reports

I like to say that every day is Camo Day here at MPHS, but today really is Camo Day for spirit week. And lots of our students and teachers are sporting their camo. Today's post will feature students making art in their camo. Today will be our last day working on our mosaics.
For more specific information about today's classroom activities check out my website linked to the MPHS homepage. There you can see what we did in class today and all the homework assignments.

Reminders: Progress Reports went home yesterday, and they need to be signed and returned to school.

Also, we had to reschedule our field trip in November. New permission slips were sent home on Monday, and they need to be signed and returned to school.

Today we are beginning a new project within our unit on Shape and Form; however, before we move on I want to share with you some excellent student examples of our black and white cut-out shapes project. Students had to create a design using black objects on white paper. Then they had to replicate the design using white objects on black paper. All designs were based on the theme "under the sea".

Our next project is to create a reproduction of a master artist's painting in paper mosaics. I am looking forward to seeing what the students produce.

Reminder- Weekly Sketchbook Assignments are due tomorrow (every Friday). This week's assignment is to draw your most prized possession.
