In Art I today we started our design projects. This project limits students to only 5 simple materials (3 sheets of paper, a glue stick, and a pair of scissors).
materials the students were given
Using only these limited resources, students must create an interesting design. You would be surprised what they create.
Here are just a couple examples.
In Art II today we worked on a drawing that tests students ability to draw what they see. This is a great way to begin the semester because it forces students to make their brain, hand, and eyes work together. Only one section of the images is revealed at a time. Students can only draw what they see in that section. This can be a challenging and rewarding exercise for young artists.
