How create an accurate self-portrait:
Step One: Take a photo of yourself, print it off, and then draw a 1/2" by 1/2" grid over the photograph.
Step Two: Grid a plain white sheet of paper with a 1/2" by 1/2" grid.
Step Three: Using the grid, create a line drawing of yourself. Then erase the grid-lines.
Step Four: Using color pencils, shade the drawing.
Here are three student examples of self-portraits in the process of being drawn.
