It is a passion of mine...

An art diary, art journal or visual journal
is a journal kept by artists, often containing both words and sketches, and occasionally including mixed media elements such as collages. Such books will frequently contain rough workings, in cartoon form, of ideas later to appear in finished works, as well as acting as a normal diary, by allowing the artist to record their day-to-day activities and emotions

Our Art II class explored the idea of visual journal-ing today. This activity requires more than one class period, but here are some of their works in progress.

I like Adan's windows that open up to reveal images and words underneath.
This page included found objects (bubble wrap and a film strip.)
This student has a nice mixture of watercolor wash, textured paper, a page from a dictionary, and a brown paper bag. This is going to create a great background.
With else can I say but very creative. I can't wait to see how it progresses!
This student also used bubble wrap, but she used it to create an interesting pattern in her background.
