First we drew a value scale in color pencils. We created one with highlights and shades of orange. In the second value scale we used yellow and orange to make yellow-orange, and then we used orange and red to create red-orange.


Next we looked at the photo below and drew a line drawing of the image.
Then we traced circles over some areas of our line drawings. Inside the circles, we shaded the image with color pencils.
