Today we are practicing how to look at complex objects and see/draw the geometric/organic shapes that make up the objects. Today we are drawing a waterlily.

After the warm-up, we created a flow map to organize our information about Giotto, Leonardo, and Durer. The flow map allows students to chart the progression of art from one artist to the next. So far in class we have used double bubble maps and flow maps (thinking maps) to organize our information. Thinking maps help students process and remember data.

To follow up our notes from last week, we looked at a PowerPoint on Balance.

With the last half of class, we continued working on our black and white shape projects.

HOMEWORK THIS WEEK: 1. Draw your prized possession (due Friday).
